Job Description

The Pricing Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day pricing operations and supporting the execution of pricing strategies developed by the Director of Pricing. This role leads a team focused on pricing analysis, margin management, and pricing process improvements to ensure competitive and profitable pricing across the organization. The Pricing Manager collaborates closely with sales and finance to implement pricing initiatives and drive margin enhancement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage pricing activities including price setting, adjustments, and margin analysis in alignment with corporate pricing strategies.
  • Oversee pricing data accuracy, contract compliance, and pricing system maintenance.
  • Analyze pricing trends, competitive positioning, and profitability metrics to support decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain pricing models, tools, and reports to monitor pricing performance.
  • Work closely with sales, finance, marketing, procurement and operations to ensure pricing strategies are effectively implemented and aligned with business objectives.
  • Support sales teams with pricing inquiries, special pricing requests, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to pricing strategy, systems, and process enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline pricing processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing policies, legal requirements, and internal controls.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate documentation and pricing records.
  • Assist in training other employees and/or assigning, coordinating and supervising the work of other employees within the Pricing Team as it relates to Pricing and Margin Improvement.
  • Not responsible for asset management.  Ensures proper application of company  
  •  Policies/procedures and safeguarding of all fixed assets.
  • No direct responsibility for revenues or expenses. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and pricing software/tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • English required; French is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate complex pricing concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Enjoys working hard; action oriented and full of energy for the things that he/she sees as challenging; not fearful of acting with a minimum of planning; seizes opportunities when they arise.
  • Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting his/her business and organization; knows the competition; is aware of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
  • Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services; talks and acts with customers / suppliers in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.

  • Must follow and comply with all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations, which can be found in the Rexel Canada Health & Safety Manual.
  • Evaluated on the accuracy and effectiveness of pricing operations and margin improvement initiatives.  Success in leading and developing the pricing team.  Ability to support and implement pricing strategies that contribute to business profitability.

Additional Information

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is CAD 90000. Final compensation within this range will be determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. This range does not include variable pay or other components of Rexel’s total rewards package.
