Design What Comes Next
Help shape the future of transportation and building infrastructure across Canada. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems for some of the country’s most innovative transportation, municipal, institutional, commercial, and industrial projects. This is an opportunity to combine technical excellence, project leadership, and mentorship while working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients and communities.
Your Impact
- Lead the electrical design and delivery of transportation, commercial, institutional, and industrial infrastructure projects from concept through construction.
- Oversee the design of power distribution, fire alarm, grounding, lightning protection, emergency power, and life safety systems.
- Guide, mentor, and support intermediate and junior engineers, EITs, designers, and co-op students to foster technical growth and project success.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, contract documents, design reports, and professional sealed deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives while strengthening long-term relationships.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and resource requirements.
- Conduct design reviews, quality assurance activities, and technical oversight to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Represent WSP in client meetings, industry engagements, and multidisciplinary coordination efforts while championing innovation and technical excellence.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience designing electrical systems for transportation, commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in power distribution, fire alarm systems, grounding, lightning protection, emergency power, life safety systems, and electrical studies.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA, NFPA, IEEE, ASHRAE, and related standards.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary projects through Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), P3, AFP, Alliance, or similar project delivery models.
- Advanced project management capabilities with experience managing technical delivery, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
- Ability to review, coordinate, and defend engineering designs with clients, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and project stakeholders.
- Experience using electrical engineering analysis software for arc flash, fault current, load flow, coordination, grounding, and lighting studies.
- PMP designation considered an asset.
- Experience with control, communications, and security systems.
- Familiarity with integrated Complementary Resource Centre (iCRC) delivery models.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 – $151,800
MB & ON: $104,500 – $143,900
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $103,500 – $137,400
