Supply Chain Manager plays a vital role in the success of our operations and is an integral part of our Purchasing, Planning & Logistics team. We are currently in search of an experienced and highly motivated individual to join us in the role of Supply Chain Manager. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a preference for those with a background in the manufacturing sector.

As Supply Chain Manager, you will lead a team to ensure the successful execution of purchasing, production planning, and warehouse and logistics functions. This involves providing

leadership in both short-term day-to-day operations and long-term planning and forecasting. The ability to contribute to the development, mentorship, and guidance of the team, enabling us to achieve our goals, is crucial in this role.

Responsibilities:

Purchasing Management:

  • Develop and implement effective strategic purchasing plans to source high-quality components for our innovative LED lighting solutions.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and assess their reliability.
  • Cultivate relationships with local and global suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and prices and ensure a reliable supply chain.
  • Manage risks and develop contingency plans to accommodate changes and disruptions in global supply chain.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on initiatives to improve product quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Production Planning:

  • Lead a team of production planners responsible for the development and execution of production plans that drive efficiency, productivity, labor utilization and On-time Delivery.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Production and Process Engineering departments to optimize resource allocation and address capacity constraints.

Warehouse and Logistics Management:

  • Implement advanced inventory management practices to enhance order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure warehouse operations efficiency to support production and order shipping activities.
  • Develop and implement inventory obsoleting and utilization processes.
  • Drive the optimization of transportation networks to streamline efficiency and reduce shipping cost and delivery times.

Leadership and Cross-functional:

  • Provide leadership to a team of buyers, production planners and warehouse and logistics personnel to create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement and monitor KPIs that align with departmental and company-wide goals.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, sales, and marketing, to align supply chain with our broader business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management with a focus on purchasing, warehouse management, logistics, and production planning in a manufacturing environment (ideally electronic products and/or high-mix low-volume environment).
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain planning and optimization tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in the manufacturing sector
  • Supply chain related certification is an asset (i.e. CPIM).
  • Expertise working with and managing data in ERP systems (Epicor experience a plus).
