About the Role

Lead legal operations and people across a growing Canadian immigration law practice. This role connects legal quality and risk management with business performance, while helping improve workflows through AI and automation.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor operational health and performance across practice areas including Express Entry, family class, criminal inadmissibility, work permits, and citizenship by descent.

  • Lead lawyers, practice leads, and case managers through coaching, performance management, capacity planning, and organizational change.

  • Connect legal operations with business outcomes by assessing metrics such as cost per file, team efficiency, and practice-level economics.

  • Act as the final legal escalation point for quality standards, risk decisions, and complex matters.

  • Partner with product and engineering teams to improve legal workflows using AI and automation.

  • Support continuity and transitions across legal teams and practice areas.

What We’re Looking For

  • Four to 15 years of experience as an immigration attorney, with a law degree and a license to practise in Canada.

  • Ontario lawyer licensing in good standing.

  • Strong Canadian immigration law experience, including permanent residence and Express Entry, family class, work permits, and criminal inadmissibility.

  • Experience leading a legal practice or department and managing both lawyers and non-lawyer staff, including performance management.

  • Sound legal judgment and experience serving as a final escalation point for quality and risk.

  • Comfort assessing operational metrics across multiple business lines, reading a P&L, and working in a fast-moving environment.

  • Familiarity with modern AI assistants and coding tools.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is CAD $160,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with three days per week in the office.
